Quite an interesting story about an Alpha Legion warband surviving in the 40k universe, shortly after the Great Rift.

Recently I’ve been quite busy and haven’t had much time to read (nor to write reviews), until yesterday, when I finished Hereticus.
I wanted some light, mindless reading that would allow me to leave the book for a couple of weeks and not feel bad about it.
I had this book in the pile for a while, and thought it would be a good candidate.

Well, I finished it today.
It’s not a life-changing book, but it’s fun.
It’s also a good introduction to the relatively recent events of the universe

I’d certainly not consider it a good introduction to the universe, though.
It must be very confusing if this is the first thing you read.

,
and certainly seems a good introduction to 40k Alpha Legion.

A small warband is recruited to do a mission that will deliver an Imperial world, in the Imperium Nihilus, to a Chaos Lord.
Of course, very soon things go astray, and what began as a difficult mission ends up being… well, a very difficult one.

As said, it’s not life-changing, just good fun, but I do end up a bit sad that there seems to be no direct continuation of the book.
